What Is a Power Dialer? How It Works and When It Pays Off

A power dialer is software that calls a list of phone numbers one after another, automatically, so the caller never dials by hand. When one call ends, the next number rings.

How power dialing works

1. You build a list of leads with phone numbers.
2. You press start; the dialer calls lead 1.
3. If they answer, you talk. If not, the call ends after a set time.
4. After a short pause (to write a note), the dialer calls lead 2, and so on.
5. You can pause, skip a lead or stop the list whenever you want.

Where the time savings come from

Cutting 30–50 seconds of overhead from every call adds up fast: over 100 dials that's more than an hour back each day.

When a power dialer pays off
